CORNER POCKET

FRONT YARD
SACRAMENTO, CA | 2021

This project started as a large expanse of lawn and was transformed into a Corner Pocket of habitat, for both people (in the form of a decomposed granite patio and path) and pollinators (in the form of a perennial border and shrub backdrop). The Corner Pocket, aptly named given its location in Sacramento’s Pocket neighborhood, is activated by a flexible patio space and screened by shade-loving plants and boulders from the Sierra Nevada.
