OKI PARK PROJECT

UTILITY CORRIDOR
SACRAMENTO, CA | 2021 - ongoing (CONCEPT DESIGN PHASE)

PARTNERS:
NextGen Policy, Insight Garden Program, NorCal Resist, Office of Kat Taylor

The Oki Park Project is a collaboration between community-based organizations, Councilmember Eric Guerra’s office, and local residents passionate about transforming an underutilized 6.3 acre city-owned utility corridor into a vibrant community space set within a native grassland habitat. The project envisions a multipurpose hub that serves local community needs, the environment, and systems-impacted people. Through its basic conceptual framework and community engagement, the Oki Park Project is a model for transforming single-use corridors, across Sacramento and California, into thriving community spaces with beneficial native habitat.
